OpenAppBox

Open source

Open code. Honest pricing.

Every OpenAppBox app is developed in public. You can inspect how it works, report problems and help improve it. A subscription is the easy way to use the apps, and it’s what keeps the work going.

Why we publish our code

Our apps touch things that matter: your servers, your files, your disk. You should be able to check what they do rather than trust a marketing page, including this one.

Publishing the source keeps us honest about privacy, makes security problems easier to find and fix, and means the apps can outlive any single company decision. If we ever stopped maintaining an app, its code would still be there.

Each project’s license is stated in its repository. The license, not this page, defines exactly how the code may be used, modified and shared.

Open code, easy subscription

Read the code

Free for everyone, under each project’s license:

  • Read and audit every line
  • Report issues and follow fixes in the open
  • Suggest improvements through pull requests

Each project’s license defines how its code may be used. Ready-to-use apps, updates and support come with a subscription.

Subscribe

A small yearly price per app. You get:

  • A ready-to-use app, nothing to set up
  • Automatic updates
  • Support for the current release
  • The satisfaction of funding software you rely on

Repositories

Repositories are linked here as soon as they’re public. Apps in early development may open their repository shortly before release.

Getting involved

  • Report issues

Found a bug or something confusing? Open an issue in the app’s repository, where everyone can follow it.

  • Suggest changes

Pull requests are welcome. Each repository explains its coding style and how changes are reviewed.

  • Report security problems privately

Please don’t file security vulnerabilities as public issues. Each repository’s security policy explains how to report them privately.

Useful software shouldn’t cost a fortune.

Explore what we’re building, read the code, and follow along as each app moves toward release.
